Saturday 26th June to Sunday 4th July. Gatley Carnival Parade and Fun Day Sunday 4th July What is Gatley Festival? The first Gatley Festival was held in 1922 and the first rose queen Gatley Festival in 1932. It was originally called the YMCA Gatley Festival but the cost of the parade became so expensive that they had to change to a different style event. The main cost of the festival in the 20's was.... The Jazz Bands!Today’s Gatley Festival offers a varied programmed of events, something for all taste and all ages and many events for the whole family to enjoy. The chance to showcase local groups schools businesses and organizations and show everyone, just what Gatley Village has to offer! Let’s celebrate! We want Gatley resident’s past and present and everyone from the surrounding areas to come and have a fantastic time out, to celebrate and help us make Gatley Festival a great success and raise money for local causes. Keeping up the tradition, this year the Festival culminates on Sunday 4th July with Gatley Carnival winding its way through the streets of Gatley from 12.45pm, the carnival parade is a magical, musical, colourful, fun family day out and is not to be missed. After the carnival the fun moves onto the fields at Gatley Hill house from 1.30pm where an afternoon of family entertainment awaits you, including the crowning of the Gatley Festival Carnival Queen and Princess. You can buy things, win things and play things on a wide variety of stalls and fairground attractions and entry to the festival field is free! Help! As always we extend a special invitation to local groups, businesses, organisations and individuals that would like to take part in the Gatley Festival Carnival parade or perform in Gatley Festival arena on the day of the festival.
